6. Water

Furthermore, water contains minerals and proteins that protect tooth enamel from decay and gum disease. After consuming foods or beverages that contain pigments, rinse your mouth with water to maintain a whiter, brighter smile. 

7. Baking Soda

You can substitute baking soda for toothpaste if you run out. Due to its alkalinity and mild abrasiveness, baking soda helps remove tooth discoloration and plaque. Baking soda and water are mixed together to make a paste that can be applied to your toothbrush as toothpaste. Brush for two minutes with the paste.
